It was on an early morning walk by a small pond when we spotted Mama Duck taking the family for an early morning swim. Brian was ready for her and quickly captured this beautiful image. I printed this photo as a 17x22 inch giclee print on thick cotton rag paper mounted to a backer board and protected with varnish. The frame was chosen from our re-cycled stash and painted with Annie Sloan's old white paint with a light coating of wax to keep its old timey character.
I love using the ASCP on these old frames, as it works so beautifully no matter what the original looked like. These 30 year old frames are usually brown or black and the finish has deteriorated to the point that something needs to be done to enable them to be attractive again. They are individually finished to compliment the image they are teamed up with. I generally print matte images creating a watercolor-like print which is beautifully complimented by the old matte finished frames. This version is the first printing of Mama Duck.
